The Oregon Chorale's season closer features the hauntingly emotional music of two of Central Europe’s most renowned modern composers. Latvian composer Ēriks Ešenvalds’ powerful Passion & Resurrection, featuring soprano Arwen Myers, uses texts drawn from Catholic, Protestant, and Byzantine liturgy brought to life through dramatic and emotional music. The concert will conclude with Henryk Górecki’s a cappella Marian Songs (Pieśni Maryjne), a gorgeous, flowing, and seemingly simplistic set of five a cappella choral movements.
