Choral Arts Alliance of Missouri – Brahms: Ein Deutsches Requiem

While many are familiar with the splendor and grandiosity of Brahms's masterwork Ein deutsches Requiem (A German Requiem), few are familiar with Brahms’s more intimate 1877 “London” chamber version, scored for four-hands. Rather than a reduction of the full-scale work, Brahms’s chamber version represents a creative reshaping of the Requiem, a more intimate scoring appropriate for honoring the perseverence and trauma of the pandemic.
